Isabelle Mills joined Greengage as an intern in the summers of 2016 and 2017.
This is her story:
I am currently studying an Integrated Masters (MEnvSci) Environmental Science degree at the University of Southampton with a specific focus on sustainable environmental management. Once graduating I hope to pursue a career in sustainability consulting.
I had the pleasure of working for Greengage as an Intern in 2016 and returned in 2017 during my summer breaks from university, where I gained invaluable experience working alongside the professional consultants.
Whilst working at Greengage I focused on assisting with the compilation of socio-economic, health impact assessment and cumulative technical areas within environmental statements and supplementary documents for a range of developments.
James Bumphrey, Senior Consultant, was brilliant at guiding me through the work which gave me the confidence to really get involved in a variety of interesting projects, as well as helping me to progress my understanding of the sector. It is noticeable from working in 2016 and returning in 2017 how consulting within this sector has evolved and there is greater need for more in depth assessment covering a wider array of areas.
Due to the range of disciplines Greengage has to offer, it was evident during my time how the innovative approaches they provide their clients are making a difference and are setting an example for other consultancies to go beyond compliance.
The team who are not only experts in their field, are welcoming, friendly and answered any questions I had. The people at Greengage really made the overall experience for me as I was able to learn from such hard working, skilled consultants in their fields and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside and assist them.
