Social sustainability team highlights

This year, the social sustainability team has worked on a number of exciting projects, such as the development of social impact strategies and framework.

AWW Social Value Tracker: a toolkit for architects: Working in collaboration, Greengage and AWW have pioneered an in-house tracker to enhance the social impact of architectural design. This tool, developed after having worked with AWW over the past year on projects including Bath School of Management and The Park Community Centre, allows seamless data input throughout the RIBA stages of the design process, in alignment with AWW’s ESG themes.

Hibernia Social Value Framework and site assessments: a benchmark for Ireland : Alongside our Nature Team who are running a biodiversity strategy for Hibernia, we are excited to collaborate with our new Irish client, on developing a social value framework for their sites in alignment with their ESG targets and themes. Our Nature Team, responsible for biodiversity strategy, and our social value team will work together on this project. We are delighted to work with a client who is at the forefront of incorporating social value in procurement and community development in Ireland.

Bringing a Green Lease to life: McLellan Works (Bywater Properties) Occupier engagement: As landlords, your strategies include a net zero approach, a social impact plan, and more. However, these goals can only be achieved if occupiers actively cooperate. Unfortunately, this cooperation often falls short, preventing the targets from being met. To address this issue, we are collaborating with Bywater Properties at McLellan Works, a recently refurbished office building in Glasgow. Our aim is to engage with the occupiers through an engagement programme including workshops, where we will collaboratively devise strategies to fulfil the goals outlined in their environmentally conscious lease. Through this initiative, we strive to bring these aspirations to reality.
