Greengage are excited to announce the appointment of Richard Hillyard. Richard will work in both our Sustainability and Energy and Carbon teams, delivering consultancy and reporting whilst contributing to the development of both teams.
Richard is a Principal Consultant and Chartered Environmentalist with over 15 years’ experience in operational energy, environmental management and sustainability, providing advice and support to global property management, financial services and UK public sector organisations.
With extensive knowledge on operational delivery of sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programmes, Richard is experienced at advising clients on how energy is used in buildings and identifying opportunities to reduce operational carbon emissions. He has also played a critical role in establishing operational environmental management strategies and programmes for internationally operating organisations.
Richard is an advocate of the Soft Landings framework to improve the design, construction and operation of buildings and sees this as part of the solution as we move to a low carbon economy and strive to achieve Net zero buildings that are fit for purpose.
Prior to Greengage, Richard has worked for CBRE, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and a leading Real Estate sustainability consultancy.
Richard said “It is great to be part of the Greengage team, joining up with knowledgeable and passionate people. I hope to provide support and advice to our clients at this critical time in tackling the climate crisis. There has never been a more important time to deliver on sustainability in the built environment as we strive to achieve positive change in this decade of action.”
