Greengage are excited to announce that Olivia Guindon has joined the Ecology team as a Consultant. Olivia undertakes habitat and protected species surveys and develops ecological mitigation and enhancement strategies to achieve biodiversity net gains throughout developments.
Olivia took an interest in wildlife early on, growing up in the South of France and exploring the nearby National and Regional Parks such as the Calanques, Camargue and Gorges du Verdon as a child.
Olivia has a BSc in Wildlife Conservation and a Masters in Species Identification and Survey Skills. During her studies she also gained professional experience by working for various ecology consultancies in the summer seasons.
Olivia’s experience means she can take on a wide array of projects and work with people and clients from different backgrounds and disciplines to advise on how developments can provide measurable gains for biodiversity.
Aside from her work with consultancies, she has spent many hours volunteering for the Berkshire and Oxfordshire Bat Groups and this has enabled her to build on the fundamental knowledge required to survey bats, ensure legislative compliance and provide mitigation support.
Olivia said: “It is an exciting time to get involved in ecological consultancy, when actions are being put in place at a legislative level, relating to the biodiversity net gain aspirations within the building sector. I am looking forward to working for a company that is as forward-looking as Greengage. The company is leading innovative Green Infrastructure projects in and around London, fighting the battle for climate change resilience and benefiting our health and wellbeing.”
