Greengage are excited to announce that Jess Cole has joined the team as a senior ecological consultant. Jess undertakes habitat and protected species surveys and reports to inform planning applications and develops ecological mitigation and enhancement strategies to achieve biodiversity net gains throughout developments.
Jess has a BSc in Ecology from Lancaster University, and started working within the industry from the age of 18, volunteering for local consultancies and helping out with a range of protected species surveys. From this early experience Jess developed a passion for bats and amphibians and now holds a Natural England great crested newt survey licence, and a Tree Climbing and aerial Rescue qualification which Jess uses to assess trees for potential to support roosting bats.
Before joining Greengage, Jess was an ecologist at a London based ecology specialist, where she gained experience working closely with clients through the planning and development process, managing projects and leading on complex and time sensitive ecological surveys.
Jess said: “I’m excited to join a company as pro-active and forward thinking as Greengage, and I am looking forward to being part of a team that is actively making a difference for biodiversity through developments across London and the UK.”
