Introducing Amrita 533 799 Greengage Environmental

We are delighted to announce that Amrita Dasgupta Shekhar has joined Greengage as an Associate and will be leading the Energy and Carbon services. Amrita has over 15 years’ experience of working for the public and private sector providing strategic leadership and management of carbon reduction programmes.

She joins us from the Better Buildings Partnership, where she worked with Commercial Real Estate investors, owners and managing agents to develop and deliver sustainability and ESG guidance and tools. Amrita was previously the Strategic Lead of Sustainability for the Leicester Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme and has experience of working on projects from contract development all the way to design, delivery and post occupancy evaluations. During this time, she was also a member of the CIBSE Schools Design Group that was instrumental in steering best practice in Sustainable Schools. She has authored a number of technical and non-technical papers, guidance and toolkits on Sustainable Buildings and ESG issues in the UK as well as in international peer reviewed journals.

As a part of her new role, Amrita is seconded part-time to continue working with the Better Buildings Partnership, supporting the delivery of REEB and projects associated with NABERS UK

The Real Estate Environmental Benchmark (REEB) is a publicly available environmental performance benchmark for commercial properties in the UK. REEB has increasingly become the industry standard used by investors, fund managers and property owners to understand the operational performance of their portfolios against industry peers and net zero trajectories. REEB data has been used to inform a number of industry-backed schemes and frameworks including NABERS UK and the UKGBC Net Zero Carbon targets for offices.

NABERS UK is an industry backed initiative to tackle the performance gap and provide an approach to rating the operational energy efficiency of office buildings in the UK. NABERS is increasingly being recognised as the process for improving actual operational performance of office buildings in the transition to Net Zero. The BBP has been instrumental in developing the scheme for the UK alongside NABERS Australia.
