Greengage is proud to announce that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved our net-zero targets validated under the SME Criteria Assessment Indicators. This marks a significant step in our ongoing commitment to climate action and to holding ourselves to the same high standards we recommend to our clients.
SBTi provides the only framework for corporates to set verifiable net-zero targets in line with climate science. This approval aligns us with the ambitious goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, in accordance with the Paris Agreement’s target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets include:
Near-term science-based targets
- Reducing our absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions 58.8% by 2034 from a 2023 base year.
- Measuring and reducing our scope 3 emissions compared to the base year.
Long-term science-based targets (net-zero targets)
- Reducing our absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions 90% by 2050 from 2023 base year.
Next steps
By joining the growing number of companies with SBTi-approved targets, Greengage is aligning its business strategy with global efforts to decarbonise the economy and demonstrate true climate leadership.
We will show our commitment by publishing our annual carbon footprint, actions taken and progress towards meeting our net-zero science-based targets. We also hope our commitment will inspire other organisations to kick-start their own decarbonisation efforts, crucial to limiting warming to 1.5°C.
We are currently developing our net-zero roadmap, which will outline our plans and set out detailed carbon reduction strategies for each emissions scope. This will provide a targeted, transparent approach to achieving our carbon reduction goals.
