Greengage’s Lesley Treacy took part in “Oarsome Property Challenge” on Friday 19th June to raise money for The Ahoy Centre Charity. Ten boats representing companies from the Property Industry took part and two novice teams from Women in Property were lucky enough to participate. Team members on the WiP six-pared craft were from Greengage, McClure Naismith, Miles Commercial, Fladgate, Grainger PLC and TD Securities. Other teams included JLL, L&G Property Sector and Residential Land.
The teams rowed the 8.5 miles along the Thames from Vauxhall to The Ahoy Centre at Deptford. This involved rowing along the main tourist sites of Central London, including the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and east past through Tower Bridge. In total the 10 teams raised over £30,000 for the charity.
The Oarsome Challenges are unique fundraisers run by The AHOY Centre charity to provide vital unrestricted funding for the Deptford-based charity, which uses water-based activities to give opportunities and employable skills to young people and disabled people from south east London.
