Greengage have been busy all summer monitoring a wide range of urban green infrastructure projects throughout London and the UK.
Our ecologists have been on rooftops throughout the capital studying the many living roofs that we have been involved with over the last few years. We have seen diverse wildflower meadows in the most unlikely of places supporting a wide variety of life.
Our detectors have been collecting data on how valuable these features are for bat species, and our entomologists have been busy trapping invertebrates, experimenting with different techniques in these unusual habitats.
There is still a general lack of knowledge regarding the success of living roofs in conserving urban biodiversity, and we hope that our data can begin to shed some light on this. We will continue our efforts over the coming years.
