Environmental Impact Assessments
Our team delivers a full environmental impact assessment (EIA) service to developers, assessing potential significant environmental impacts arising out of a proposed development. These are identified, assessed and the scope for mitigating these is presented within an Environmental Statement (ES), which accompanies the planning application. We both coordinate the EIA process and provide specialist chapters particularly in relation to; energy, waste, water resources, ecology, sustainability and socio-economic impacts. In addition to full EIA services and chapters, we are highly experienced in the provision of the screening/scoping of EIAs.
Strategic Environmental Assessments
Our team delivers a full Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) service assessing potential significant environmental impacts from a proposed Plan, policy or programme.
Environmental Performance Statements
We undertake the assessment of schemes and the production of environmental performance statements to meet planning policy on a local, regional and national scale. These statements are becoming increasingly commonplace in relation to planning applications.
Bespoke Site Assessments
Our team of consultants deliver bespoke site assessments to determine both the statutory and non-statutory opportunities and constraints associated with potential developments. Both our planning and environmental teams co-ordinate advice related to land and planning applications through the use of GIS, ecological assessment and policy research.
Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
We advise project teams on how to mitigate and adapt to climate change through advising on appropriate design responses that also align with regional and local policy requirements. Through the examination of regional impacts caused by global climate change and also local impacts of the urban heat island effect we identify solutions that include greenhouse gas emission reduction, specification of low albedo materials and the incorporation of green infrastructure.
