A look at the drivers behind the rise of the health & wellbeing topic, and how impact assessments can be used to highlight the health & wellbeing and social benefits of development.
Traditional sustainability requirements during planning focus primarily on the buildings. This presentation explores how a community based approach considering ‘the space between the buildings’ is critical to ensure future developments provide ‘healthy’, as well as ‘sustainable’, buildings and communities.
In this talk we cover:
- The design principles and processes behind creating a healthy community,
- Real case examples of where it is being applied and how,
- The tools and methods available to quantify this approach, and
- Insight in to what the future holds for this approach and the drivers behind it.
