Greengage have provided strategic environmental guidance and support on a number of sites of specific heritage value including Woking Palace. This former Tudor palace in Surrey was closely associated with the Kings and Queens of England for 400 years until it fell into disrepair and eventual ruin in the 1800s. We provided guidance on the environmental implications of the proposed conservation works at the site and contributed to the wider Conservation Management Plan and Masterplan.
Our input included undertaking baseline surveys and assessments that were able to inform bespoke recommendations for ecological mitigation and management, tailored to fit with stakeholder requirements and heritage aims. Our depth of experience of ecology, planning and legislation in the UK was key in providing robust input for a potentially contentious but ecologically and culturally interesting site.
