Blandford St Mary, Dorset

Blandford St Mary is a village in the North of Dorset to the south of the larger town of Blandford Forum. Hall and Woodhouse have been brewing beer there since 1777 and are part of local community heritage. The scheme’s aims were to deliver a sustainable community, create jobs and bring new people into the area.

The 7.3 hectare site is located in a predominantly agricultural area with many potentially sensitive considerations including: the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the Cranbourne Chase and West Wiltshire AONB, the River Stour, the Blandford Forum, Bryanston and Blandford St. Mary Conservation Area, and a major aquifer below the site.

Greengage provided a cost effective EIA process, co-ordinated various technical studies prepared by other consultants and produced specific Environmental Sustainability chapters including the socio-economic, water resources and sustainability assessments.
