We are pleased that the detailed planning application for the second phase of Elephant Park – West Grove has been submitted as this is a significant milestone in the regeneration of Elephant & Castle, helping to deliver the project’s ambitions and vision in creating world class architecture at Elephant Park and in reconnecting Walworth to the Elephant.
West Grove represents the largest phase across the regeneration so far, comprising seven buildings and 593 homes in total. It will also include the tallest building on the Masterplan – a 31 storey tower. As well as delivering almost 600 new homes – of which 25% will be affordable – West Grove will also provide over 40,000sqft in new retail space, including a 17,000 sqft food store. This new retail space means that West Grove will deliver half of the Masterplan’s new central shopping street and will also re-introduce retail along this section of Walworth Road, therefore re-invigorating the high street. Greengage provided advice and support around the need for any Environmental Impact Assessment and implications of the development plans in the context of the existing consented scheme.
