Introducing Tom…

Greengage are excited to announce the appointment of Tom Gwilliam as an Associate. Tom will lead our Energy and Carbon Management team providing expert advice to our clients and continuing to grow this business stream.

Tom is an Energy Consultant and Certified Passivhaus Designer with extensive experience in developing energy strategies for multi-use developments in the UK, including the detailed assessment of heat networks, renewable technologies and embodied carbon.

With a broad portfolio of projects delivered within the Greater London Authority area, Tom is adept at advising clients on how to meet the stringent requirements for sustainability, decentralised energy and energy efficiency in the capital and further afield.

In his last role before joining Greengage, Tom held a senior role on the Horizon 2020 funded Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) project, developed for the European Commission. As part of this role Tom researched and compiled data on building energy performance, carbon emissions, climatic projections and retrofit initiatives across the EU28 countries.

Tom said ‘it’s an exciting time in the industry with a real push being made to move towards zero carbon and carbon neutral buildings, and with an increasing focus on reducing the carbon intensity of building materials. I am looking forward to working with our client’s, helping to deliver buildings that work as designed and are comfortable for their occupants’.

Mitch Cooke, Director of Sustainability at Greengage, said ‘its great to have Tom on board and the team here look forward to working with him to continue to grow our Energy and Carbon business stream. Tom has extensive experience within the construction industry and brings a range of skills which compliment those already within the Greengage team.’
