A recent poll on the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) has revealed that although more organisations are now aware of the scheme, nearly half (47%) of those surveyed have not yet begun any compliance activity. The poll also found more than half of the businesses have yet to appoint a lead assessor and that almost three quarters of businesses have yet to start their mandatory energy audits. Given that these must be completed by the end of the year, the clock is ticking!
There have been concerns around supply and demand as there are estimated to be fewer than 500 lead assessors currently for more than 10,000 businesses. However, despite the lack of progress, almost 80% of businesses feel confident they will meet the ESOS deadline of 5th December 2015.
Greengage have produced an ESOS Ready Reckoner which highlights the main points of the scheme. If you would like to learn more about ESOS or would like Greengage to act as your Lead Assessor, please contact Lesley Treacy email@example.com.
