Swandon Way

Greengage provided arboricultural services to support the redevelopment of the Swandon Way site in the London Borough of Wandsworth. The proposals sought to convert an existing commercial unit and associated parking facilities into a mixed-used scheme providing residential and SME space.

Greengage produced an Arboricultural Impact Assessment report and Tree Constraints Plan to submit in support of the planning application. Actions towards mitigating damage to, and loss of, trees were presented in accordance with best practice guidelines, helping to inform landscaping plans.

The final designs combined the retention of amenity value street trees where possible, and a landscaping strategy to provide extensive green infrastructure within the urban setting which conformed to the scheme put forward. The overall gains in treescape will help to deliver invaluable benefits for climate offsetting such as carbon reduction and flood prevention, while enhancing amenity space for the public realm.
