Greengage provided a number of environmental reports in support of a planning application for the regeneration of land at the former Oldchurch Hospital Site in Romford, London. With a focus on sustainability, Greengage produced a strategy designed to maximise the energy efficiency measures, and renewable energy technologies for this sustainable 500 dwelling residential scheme.
The strategy included a communal combined heat and power unit and energy saving measures such as improved air permeability, insulation to windows and walls, and efficient building services and boilers. This helped reduce overall C02 emissions and achieve over and above the development’s required Code Level 3 rating.
Greengage worked closely with Taylor Wimpey and discussed on their behalf the viability of the suggested measures and the benefits of outsourcing implementation and management of the energy centre with relevant parties.
