Hawley Crescent

Greengage undertook a baseline ecological survey of this site in Camden Town, London. Provision was made within a BREEAM Ecology credit compliant report for an extensive biodiverse living roof.

Greengage designed a specification for the roof which included species mixes and ecological enhancement features targeting invertebrates and birds such as black redstart. Post construction Greengage undertook reviews of the installed roof and advised on actions to safeguard ecological functionality, and ensure compliance with planning and BREEAM requirements.

Following site completion and handover, adjustments were made to the living roof to enable the provision of 4 new skylights. Greengage designed an approach to enable this proposal, whilst ensuring net gains in ecological value through augmentation of the existing retained areas of roof.
