Greengage were appointed to act as the energy assessor for the development of the Clapham Park Estate in Clapham, London.
Clapham Park is a regeneration project in the London Borough of Lambeth which has a vision for high quality, affordable, well managed and maintained homes, set within a revitalised area with a network of open spaces, cleaner and safer streets, better transport, good schools, and a range of community facilities.
The project has benefitted from the creation of a site-specific energy services company to lead the creation and operation of an energy centre to provide low carbon, low cost heating to residents.
The project’s design works to ensure that the affordable and private homes are cheap to run as their energy efficiency is maximised.
Greengage provided advice, guidance and will generate the final Energy Statement for the planning submission in line with other stakeholders.
For every property type at the development Greengage have undertaken energy modelling assessments to assess both the resultant carbon dioxide emissions and the thermal comfort achieved during summer months. This guides the façade, ventilation strategy, materials specification and cost plan to ensure the most appropriate design is taken forward.
As well as assessing the energy for planning Greengage will also use the outputs from energy modelling exercises to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations and estimate the energy bills for future residents.
Greengage are using IES government-approved dynamic simulation software to make sure that the future homes at Clapham Park are high quality, comfortable and affordable.
