Greengage were commissioned to undertake a baseline socio-economic assessment of the local community infrastructure for a proposed 4 storey residential development comprising 14 residential units, communal amenity space, car and cycle parking in Mitcham.
The assessment first identified all locations and capacity of community infrastructure classified under Use Class D1, as was required by the pre-application specifications. These include primary health care facilities, childcare facilities, schools, places of worship and community facilities including libraries and community centres.
The assessment then calculated the expected population of the residential development and expected child yield using recommended multipliers.
These figures were used to assess whether the services and facilities had sufficient capacity to sustain the new development, and concluded that the development would have sufficient community infrastructure for the potential population of the Church Road development.
