Another BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ for Greengage and Whitbread Premier Inn

Achieving BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ with a Post Construction score of 87.69%, Tolworth Premier Inn is now the second highest BREEAM certified hotel, following Greengage’s earlier success with St Martin’s Lane hub by Premier Inn Hotel. To reach this score, consideration had to be given to every aspect of sustainable design from the early design stage.

Greengage acted as sustainability consultants and BREEAM assessors, from pre-planning through to post construction. The development comprised the demolition of the existing buildings and construction of a new 137-bedroom hotel up to 8 storeys, including ancillary café, a ‘Thyme’ bar and restaurant with 110 covers.

There is no doubt that the prospect of a sustainable development is becoming more attractive to investors. Greengage supports the BRE in continually ensuring that their benchmarks develop in accordance with new technologies and recognition of the benefits of building responsibly.
